I Want to Dance for You

dancer-in-blackA star trapped suddenly in fragments
Shattered glass across my black
Across my blackness riding, riding
Wind swept hair unraveling in a breeze
Sharp, sharp fingertips blessing this
Meet my skin
An eruption
Then a kiss

Dangling limbs
My rattlesnakes
Slither then snap
My prowess undone
Raptures through rhythms unseen
Cradling my arched feet
Sequins and rhinestones
I slip through them like sin

Ubiquitous queen
A dancing drum
Running down the body
Of an Amazon
Sand-silked thighs and a fire-licked sex
Profane by civility
Alive in God’s eyes
